Transformers: Mosaic released Simple on March 22. The one page comic stars the Dinobot, Sludge (he's the one that turns into the brontosaurus/apatosaurus). Simple is written by James O'Callaghan, edited by Josh van Reyk, and illustrated by, ... Me!

James made such a wonderful story about my favorite Dinobot, and told in only one page! We get so much characterization for Sludge, more I think than anywhere except S.O.S. Dinobots (and the UK comic which I have just recently been exposed to). I also would like to thank Josh for a great job as editor. He kept everything rolling along smoothy and caught several spelling and puctuation errors I made in the letters.

I am so happy this ended up being my first Mosaic. Sludge is the first Dinobot I got and became my defacto favorite (you can tell by how much more wear my Sludge figure has than my other Dinobots). Also, Sludge pretty well matches my personallity. I'm big, I'm friendly, and I'm kinda slow.

A quick word about the art. It's almost completely hand made. Hand pencilled, hand inked, and colored with acrylic watercolor. Even the static on the computer screen in panel two is grey paint applied with a very small brush. The only computer work is scanning (of course), some minor cleanup and an adjustment layer in Adobe Photoshop, and letters in Adobe Illustrator. With the dinos, I tried to keep them simple and cartoony while packing in as much toy accurite details as possible.
